If you are considering becoming an RC pilot contact one of our AMPS Certified Flight Instructors for free flight lessons and club orientation.
If you are a seasoned pilot joining AMPS you must contact one of our AMPS Certified Flight Instructors prior to your first flight for a required check-out flight and club orientation after membership acceptance.
You must be a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) youth or adult. Click on the following link for more information on how to become an AMA member Academy of Model Aeronautics .
Compliance with the FAA regulations in obtaining a Drone FAA Registration and Drone Registration Number which must be placed on the outside of each of your RC models is mandatory. There is a US $5.00 cost for three years to the FAA. You will also need to complete at no charge, the no fail Recreational UAS Safety Test – TRUST and carry the certificate of completion with you while flying. Click this link for more information https://www.modelaircraft.org/trust.
Complete the AMPS Application and Renewal Form & Club Safety Rules (Online or by Mail). Please make sure you complete all the required blanks on the application to avoid delays. Without your AMA, Drone FAA Registration Number and confirmation of completing the UAS Safety Test - TRUST your application will not be processed.
